Is there a better alternative that I dont know about? Maybe a different type of backflow device. Ive included a few pictures for reference. I want to just throw the vacuum breakers in the trash but I worry about my families safety. Can someone please recommend an alternative or let me know if I am doing something wrong. I would like to keep using the spray nozzles for gardening, washing cars, things like that because it would really be a pain to always have to walk back and forth turning the valve on and off. Obviously there is no noise from pipes when water flow stays on or water flow stays off. After doing my research on google I noticed that this was a fairly common problem with vacuum breakers and relates to the spray nozzle opening and closing constantly. I also dont know if that noise causes wear and tear on the pipes since my wife gardens everyday 365 days of the year. It even sounds like the pipes shake a little inside the wall. They create a ton of noise in the pipes when using the spray nozzles.

I have been mucking around with kontakt stand alone.Īnd basically what happens is, if i assign midi tracks in pro tools to kontakt's virtual midi (i believe this is only on mac kontakt), and set kontakt at 32 samples.I recently installed hose bib vacuum breakers that I bought from my local home improvement store for $5. But doing this, it allows me to add a bunch more kontakt instruments, and uses cpu space outside pro tools! I already have a maxed out PT project, or close to. Boilsoft Audio Recorder for Mac alternatives are mainly Audio Recorders but may also be Audio Editors. I am really able to make so much more out of the same cpu. Other great apps like Boilsoft Audio Recorder for Mac are Total Recorder, Sound Siphon and Backtrack. Problem is getting the sound into PT as audio. Well this is really what Rewire is designed to do, but I don't know that it works with Kontakt. I'm able to accomplish what you're trying to do with another computer and interface by routing the audio back into Pro Tools via ADAT. I'd be interested in seeing if it's possible to do all on one computer too. Unfortunately rewire can not use more than one core, propellerheads confirmed this, it was never designed to multi thread. so at most, i might get one or two kontakt pads out of it. I also don't know of a daw on mac that can host vst/au plugins when in rewire slave mode.
Yeah, for same computer, rewire won't work i don't think. I found sound siphon and loopback as suggested, and will see if i can create aggregate devices so that the virtual input is always on, and i'll assign my interface output to the aggregate.

Sound siphon is commercial ware, unfortunately, and it has high ratings, but the free trial is a scam, there is no such thing.

you download it and HAVE to pay the $39 for outputs. PS if i get a new computer and keep my imac, yes it will be easy to do it with a second machine. I'd just get a standalone program like patchwork and put it at ultra low buffer, and use a cheap multi channel interface going into the Apollo.
